Altered Composition Notebook
I've been meaning to enter the TCP Challenge #1: Altered Notebook and it seems time has gotten away from me. The deadline to submit an entry is tonight at midnight. So, since I really wanted to enter and make my very 1st attempt at altering a notebook, after work, I decided to go ahead and create my altered notebook. This will be part of my stepson's Christmas gift. He is 14 years old and likes to write and draw....but hates to read. So, I thought I'd make up a "journal" for him to write down his thoughts and/or draw in....for this reason, I didn't do anything to the inside really. Although, I did add a pocket to the front inside cover using the same card stock used to cover the front and back of the composition book. (Forgot to take a pick though...sorry.)

Well....Haven't posted a project in a while....
I realized I haven't posted a completed project in a tad over a week. I've completed a couple items - just haven't had time to take pics. Last week I made a birthday card for my boss...I'll try and post it in the next day or two. (promise)
I've also been working on a stationary box and some note cards. I've been trying to make 1 - 2 note cards each week. Once I have the set completed, I'll post a pic of the entire set.

Woo Hoo....What a Surprise!
As I was doing my daily check of all the blogs I subscribe to and follow to read the updates for today, I was reading the post on the In the Cottage Studio's blog about the Blog Hop winners and as I was nearing the end of the post I saw my name listed as the first prize winner. I couldn't believe it -- I had to reread the post just to be sure. :)
My prize is a really cute stamp set -- Thoughts of an Egret.
What a way to end my day -- and on 09/09/09, no less. Woo Hoo.....now I'm off to bed. :)

Cricut Celebrates 100th Cartridge
Cricut has just released their 100th cartridge! Can you believe it - 100?? I didn't realize there were that many...boy, am I'm missing a ton. :)
The 100th cartridge released is the awesome Winter Woodland cartridge...and it's out just in time for you to start all of your holiday projects. This cartridge is a ton of fun and has some great surprises on it. It has a really pretty font on it (not shown on the back of the box)-- which is one of the special features. You can use this cartridge to make 3-D houses...really cool!
Check it out at: http://www.cricut.com/shopping/ProductDetails.aspx?id=361&s=1&sc=2
I've already used this cartridge a bit on some note cards I am working on for a Christmas present and plan on using it quite a bit more in preparation for the holidays.
Congrats ProvoCraft & Cricut! I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us with the next set of cartridges released.
P.S. In honor of this achievement, Cricut is giving you a chance to win a cartridge. Check it out on the Cricut messageboards.

New Challenge Site
While checking out the Cricut messageboards earlier tonight, I came across a post from a member that mentioned a new challenge blog that she is hosting with her friend. The blog is called "The Crafting Pot".
I decided to check it out......and.....the blog looks like it will be really cool. They are hosting various challenges - every Wednesday there will be a new challenge.
They have some awesome sponsors as well. I look forward to seeing how they use the various tools/materials that the sponsors sell in their challenges.
The 1st challenge is to alter a notebook. I'll have to give that a try...hopefully one night this week after work, I'll get a chance to play. If not, definitely this weekend.
Stop by their blog and check it out and leave them a comment....be sure to mention I sent you. :)

Stamp Storage
I finally went through and got all of my stamps organized. I decided to use the CD case storage method that I kept reading about. I put a piece of white cardstock in the cover and stamped each image contained in the CD case so it would be easy to see what was in the case. I used my Dymo label maker to put the stamp collection name on the side of the CD case. I put all of the CD cases in a container I bought at Ikea a few weeks ago.

Embossing Folder Storage
I scraplifted this storage idea from the Cricut messageboard... I got some baseball card storage pages as well as some 5 x 7 photo storage pages. I then cut black cardstock to fit the pockets, used my Dymo labler to print out the labels, and then I used velcro to "seal" the 5x7 pockets to keep the embossing folders from falling out. I'm storing the pages in a zip up binder.
Take a moment to let me know what you think
