Woo Hoo....New Look

Hi everyone!

I'm so excited....I spent most of the day yesterday playing with my blog and trying out different layouts/designs and finally landed on a template design that I like.  No major crafting plans today - instead I'm planning to have lunch with a dear friend and spend some time catching up with her.  I did do some crafty stuff yesterday - I made some treat bag toppers for my friends sons - she has twins - who will start school for the very 1st time this week.  I need to remember to take a picture before I give them to them so I can post them. :)

I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday and a crafty day!

P.S.  Let me know what you think of my new blog design - would love to hear your thoughts.

Hope everyone is having a glorious Saturday!!  Please pardon the mess....I'm in the process of playing with my blog design and changing things up a bit.  I hope to have it all figured out by the end of the day....keep your fingers crossed. :)

Have a crafty day.....

I've been MIA

Hi everyone -

I know it's been a long time since my last post.  There has been a lot going on lately and I haven't had my mojo so I haven't been crafting lately.

I was on vacation for 2 weeks and went to Germany with my parents, brother, and his girlfriend....so I'll be starting on a scrapbook with those pictures soon.  Assuming my mojo comes back soon. :)

First I have to get my craft room back in order.... we recently got new carpet in the house and I had to pack up my entire craft room.  So now, I have to get everything back in some semblance of order so I can figure out where everything is. :)

So it will likely be a bit longer before I'm back to posting....but I wanted to tell you thanks for continuing to stop by and see how things are going.

Hope you have a wonderful day.....

Well.....

Well, I didn't quite get to participate in the MPS NSD as I had planned....unfortunately....but I did end up spending some time with dear friends instead and had a great time.

My hubby walking into the ceremony
This past week has been a busy week at our house.  Last Saturday, was my husbands pinning ceremony - he graduated from the Nursing program at the local community college.  It was a great day and we celebrated with dear family and friends.  I'm extremely proud of my hubby and his accomplishment - he has worked hard to get here.

Then this week, my hubby had to pack up pretty much the entire house as we were having new carpet installed.  I love our new carpet....but am not looking forward to putting the house back together.  My entire scrapbook room was packed up and put in our storage area - so I will be spending most of tomorrow trying to put my room back together.  Unfortunately, this means I haven't been able to craft any....and I really need to make some Thank You cards for my hubby to send out.

So, in the meantime, I've scheduled a couple posts that will show some of the projects I made in the last month or so that I haven't posted yet.

It is a beautiful day here.  I think I'll head out and run some errands and then start on putting everything back in order.  Have a great day.....

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!!

I hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Year's celebration and that you have had a great start to 2011!  I can hardly believe it's a new year already - 2010 seemed to go by so fast.  I hope 2011 doesn't go by nearly as fast and that I am able to enjoy it.

I've been MIA again for a while, I know.  I've actually been doing some crafting...but keep forgetting to take pictures and post them to by blog.  However, I do have a couple pictures of projects/cards that I've completed over the last couple months that I hope to get posted in the near future.  This is our busy season at work - starts in Sept and goes through end of Jan - so crafting has taken a bit of a back seat to everyday life and spending time with friends and family.

I hope everyone had a fabulous Holiday season.  Christmas at our house was great.  My hubby's family came over on Christmas Eve and we did our gift exchange - it was great.  The week leading up to Christmas my hubby also rearranged the rooms upstairs, including my craft room, so I have a whole new scrapping space now...and it's much bigger!  I'm still organizing it...but it's somewhat functional right now.  Once I have it a bit more organized I'll share some pics of my new and bigger space.

Have you made any New Year's Resolutions?  I generally try not to make them as I don't follow through and end up giving up on them shortly after New Year's.  However, I am going to make a few goals for this year.  My crafty goals for 2011 are:
  1. Take more pictures and focus more on Scrapbooking
  2. Learn to do more with my Gypsy.
  3. Learn to use the Imagine and use it more in my crafting.
  4. Build up a card stash so that I don't have to make a card at the last minute
  5. Post to my blog at least once a week - but hopefully more :)
My non-crafty goal for the year is to go to the gym and get in shape.  My hubby and I signed up for a Planet Fitness membership the other day - so now I have to follow through and use the membership.  So, what are your resolutions/goals for the New Year?

I wish each of you the best in the coming year!  Have a great week!

MIA - Sorry, it'll be a bit longer....In the meantime, check out KinderStampOs Blog Hop

Hi there everyone!

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer.  I've been MIA for a bit - I haven't had any time for crafting.  I went home to MO to visit my parents and brother for a week over the 4th of July weekend.  The weeks leading up to my vacation and the weeks since I've been back have been filled with work.  I am part of a team working on a project at work that goes "live" on 08/01/10, so we've been putting in a lot of extra hours, including weekends, to ensure we have everything ready for the "live" date.  I'm hoping I'll be able to find some time to craft again the weekend after next. {crossing fingers}  I so miss my craft room.

In the meantime, I hope you'll take a chance to check out the KinderStampO's Christmas in July Blog Hop (http://www.kinderstampo.com/).  There are 15 talented bloggers who are participating in the hop.  I've definitely gotten some great ideas for some Christmas projects when I checked out the hop.  Even though it is nearly 100 degrees here....the hop put me in the mood for Christmas. :)

Well, I'm about to head in to work for a bit.....hoping to be home before my hubby gets home so we can have dinner together.  I hope you all have a great day.....

Last Day to Enter for Blog Candy

Don't forget....today is the last day to enter for a chance to win Blog Candy.  Check out the post here.

Unfortunately due to work and various things going on, I haven't had a chance to get in my craft room.  But, I have got to get in there this weekend.  I need to make 15 Bridal Shower favors.  My BIL is getting married 7/10 and my MIL and I are throwing my future-SIL a Bridal Shower next weekend (6/19).  Once I get the favors done, I will definitely post some pics.

Have a fabulous Friday!

Happy Memorial Day

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day.  Please take a moment to remember our service men and women who are currently serving or whom have served in the military.  I personally am grateful and thankful for all of our veterans and those currently serving in our military, including my friends and family members, among them my dad and husband, who have served (or are serving) in our military and am thinking of them today.  I am also grateful to the families of our veterans as they sacrifice time with their loved ones while they are overseas and fighting for our country.
THANK YOU!
Have a blessed day.

I Won :)

Hi there....I hope everyone is having a great week.  Unfortunately, for me, today was a rough day at work....by the time I got home, I was definitely not in the best of moods.  I decided to log on and check out what's been going on in blog land today....as I was catching up on my blog readings for today, I came across the post on Tracy's blog (Craft Junkie Too) announcing the winner of the $25 Gift Certificate to PaperTrey Ink for submitting a Mother's Day project....I can't believe I won.  What a great way to end the day. Thanks Tracy!!!

I entered the Mother's Day card that I made for my mom during My Pink Stampers National Scrapbook Day Challenge #1....to view the card I entered , click here.  When I called my mom on Sunday to wish her a Happy Mother's Day, I was glad to hear that she really liked it...and that it arrived in time.

Hopefully, I'll be able to post the wedding card I worked on over the weekend tomorrow night....I still need to take a picture of it.  Until later....Have a wonderful day.

Quick update...

So, it's been a bit since I've posted any updates and/or projects.  Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to craft during the past few weeks and also haven't had my crafting mojo.  It better come back by tomorrow though as I'm heading to a scrap retreat.  The retreat is from noon Thursday until 3 pm Sunday.  I'm so excited and looking forward to hanging out with everyone.

Tonight will be spent organizing and packing up all of the supplies that I will need to take with me.  I'm hoping to be able to finish up the wedding album I've been working on for dear friends of ours.  I had intended the album to be a Christmas present last Christmas - they got married in Oct - but it has taken a bit longer than intended.

I've been thoroughly enjoying the nice spring weather and hope you are as well.  It's supposed to rain this weekend (Fri & Sun, at least) here....so it will definitely be good to stay in and get some crafting done.

New Cartridges Announced

Well, yesterday was "Hello Thursday" and ProvoCraft announced 10 new cricut cartridges.  A listing of the 10 new cartridges is below - the Cake Basics cart will be included as part of the Cricut Cake machine.  It appears all will be released in mid-April; however, I've read several posts on the Cricut message boards that members have found the Robotz cartridge at some Meier's stores.  (Unfortunately, I don't have a Meier's store in NC.)

For some cool projects using the new cartridges check out the following blogs:
PC also announced that "Stamped" and "Tags, Bags, Boxes & More" will be going away.  So, if you don't have these 2 cartridges and want them, you need to go ahead and get them now.

I really need to find a way to stop my addiction (to buying new carts) and to support my hobby (since I know I can't stop the addiction). :)  My favorites of the new cartridges are definitely the Create A Critter and Robotz.  Which new cartridge(s) is your favorite?

A few changes.....

I'm in the mood to change my blog around a bit....wanted to go ahead and forewarn everyone in case you stop by and visit in the midst of the changes. :-)

Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!  The weather is beautiful here and it is supposed to be near 60 tomorrow - soooo excited!! I'm definitely ready for Spring!

Hugs,

MIA - It'll be a bit longer

I've been MIA the last few weeks from my blog and crafting.  The last couple weeks have been pretty busy and I haven't had much time to craft between work and home.  I hope things will slow down in the next week or so and I'll be able to post some new projects.  Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a joyous and blessed holiday season.  I've been MIA on my blog for a while now....work has kept me busy and I haven't had as much time to "play".  I've still been doing some crafting but not as much.  Additionally, with the holidays, time was limited for playing also...I'm sure everyone can relate.

Our Thanksgiving was nice....we made the trip to Missouri to visit my parents and brother.  It was a long drive (about 14 hours) but well worth it.  I had a great time and enjoyed spending time with my family.  It was my husbands first trip back to Missouri since he left in 2001 (after getting out of the military).  I've always gone back home to visit alone...but when we got married 2 1/2 years ago we decided we would change our holiday's around a bit and instead of spending all holidays with his family, who also reside in NC, we would spend Thanksgiving with my family and Christmas with his.  Unfortunately, that didn't work out so well the last 2 Thanksgivings for various reasons....but all fell into place this year and it was fabulous.

Well....Haven't posted a project in a while....

I realized I haven't posted a completed project in a tad over a week. I've completed a couple items - just haven't had time to take pics. Last week I made a birthday card for my boss...I'll try and post it in the next day or two. (promise)

I've also been working on a stationary box and some note cards. I've been trying to make 1 - 2 note cards each week. Once I have the set completed, I'll post a pic of the entire set.

Cricut Celebrates 100th Cartridge - Week 2

Cricut is continuing the celebration of the release of their 100th cartridge, Winter Woodland, this week. To help celebrate this achievement, Cricut is giving away 100 cartridges over the next five weeks -- that's 20 cartridges per week.

To enter the giveaway, you need to register through the Cricut website and reply to the post regarding the celebration.

Good Luck to all that enter!

Cricut Celebrates 100th Cartridge

Cricut has just released their 100th cartridge! Can you believe it - 100?? I didn't realize there were that many...boy, am I'm missing a ton. :)

The 100th cartridge released is the awesome Winter Woodland cartridge...and it's out just in time for you to start all of your holiday projects. This cartridge is a ton of fun and has some great surprises on it. It has a really pretty font on it (not shown on the back of the box)-- which is one of the special features. You can use this cartridge to make 3-D houses...really cool!

Check it out at: http://www.cricut.com/shopping/ProductDetails.aspx?id=361&s=1&sc=2

I've already used this cartridge a bit on some note cards I am working on for a Christmas present and plan on using it quite a bit more in preparation for the holidays.

Congrats ProvoCraft & Cricut! I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us with the next set of cartridges released.

P.S. In honor of this achievement, Cricut is giving you a chance to win a cartridge. Check it out on the Cricut messageboards.
