Daily Craft Challenge

Tonight I decided to join Kathy and Samantha of the Cricut message boards in their daily challenge to scrap for 45 min to an hour.  At first I wasn't sure what to work on....and decided to work on a card.  My original thought was to make a Valentines Day card...but I think this card could be used for any occasion.

Supplies:
  • Pink Cardstock
  • Purple Cardstock
  • White Eyelets
  • Metallic Purple Brad
  • Cuttlebug A2 Everyday Greetings Combo
  • Cuttlebug
  • Rubber Stampede Inkpad - Orchid
  • Creative Memories Valentine Power Palette
  • 1 1/4" Circle Punch
  • Pink Ribbon
  • Stickles
    • Green
    • Diamond
    • Icicle
    • Cotton Candy
    • Starry Night
First, I cut a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11" pink cardstock in half and scored and folded it in half.  Next, I cut the purple cardstock down to size to cover the front of the card - leaving a slight border.  Then, I placed the purple cardstock in the embossing folder that comes with the Everyday Greetings Combo kit.

I decided I wanted to bling up the flowers a bit, so I used the different colors to add some color and some bling to the flowers.  I also used my "Big Bite" to punch holes into the centers of each flower and to put in the eyelets and brad.  Next, I used my 'new' ribbon trick and punched a hole on either side of the stem so I could weave the ribbon through the holes and create the effect ov having the ribbon tied around the stem.  In order to finish off the look, I tied a little bow into a scrap piece of ribbon and glued it to the 'knot' of the other ribbon with Fabri-Tac.  After the ribbon was attached, I adhered the purple cardstock to the front of the card.

For the sentiment, I used a sticker from the CM Valentines Power Palette and adhered it to the center of the circle cut out.  I had to cut the sentiment in half to get it to fit.  Then, I inked the edges with the purple ink pad and adhered the sentiment with pop dots.

Hope you like it.  Thanks for stopping by.
