"Hugs" - Smiley Cards

Sorry, I don't have many details on this card as I made this several weeks ago for a friend who was going through a rough period and I didn't write down the info.  I used the Smiley Cards cartridge and DCWV paper.

I added some details by doodling on the word cloud and on the word "Hugs".  I also used Stickles for the cheeks of the smiley.

Enjoy.....

Congratulations to the Perfect "Pear"

This is a wedding card I made for my BIL and SIL...they got married on 03/30/11.  My BIL is in the Navy - he has just finished his training and was home on leave, on his way to his permanent duty station, and his girlfriend and he got married in a small civil ceremony.  They are a cute couple and I am very happy for them!

I made this card using my Imagine.  I haven't had a chance to play with my Imagine much since I've had it but a few weeks ago I went through the process of updating my Imagine and ensuring everything was up to date...so this is one of my first projects with it.  I'm thrilled with my Imagine - LOVE it - and am thrilled with how this card turned out.

I used the Kate's Kitchen cartridge for this card.  I cut all of the layers at 5" using the Pears.  The "Congratulations" was cut at 1" using the Holiday Cakes cartridge - I selected one of the coordinating papers from Kate's Kitchen for the color.

The sentiment was computer generated and printed on white cardstock and adhered to the inside.  I cut some background layers using coordinating papers from the Kate's Kitchen cartridge.  The background layers show completely around the entire inside - the white along the right side is from a piece of white cardstock I laid over the message I wrote to take the picture.

Have you like it...thanks of stopping by.

Craft Room Pics

At long last, I finally took some pics of my craft room.  It's still a work in progress but it is a much happier place now that I have everything somewhat organized and arranged how I want it.

The main piece of my room is the Expedit Bookshelf and Desk that I got at IKEA.  I love my Expedit set.  I also have several JetMax cubes I bought at Michael's either using 40% or 50% off coupons or when they were on sale. :-)  The 3 sets of shelves along the other wall are ones I bought at Target.

Thanks for stopping in and having a peek at my room.  I still need to paint and put up some things on the walls...but it's definitely getting there.  I spend much more time in there now.  The pics are just from the craft room side.  The other side of the room has the treadmill and houses the TV that is mounted on the wall so that I can angle it to view while crafting or while walking on the treadmill.

Have a great day.....

Retirement / Congrats Card

Wow....I sure have been MIA for a lot longer than I intended.  I have crafted some...but just haven't been around to post my projects.  So, I'm going to try and post some of the projects I've made in the last couple months.

First on the agenda....a Retirement card I made for a co-worker.  I made this card for my co-workers and I to sign and give to her - we also included a small monetary gift. :-)

For this card, I used the new cartridge Elegant Edges.  I love this cartridge.  If you are a fan of border punches this cartridge is a must have.  Several of the cuts remind me of the punch around the page border punches - LOVE it!

This card is based on the sample project (12x12 scrapbook page) that is included at the front of the cartridge handbook (see pg 10)...but I had to size it to fit on a 5" x 5" size card.  The layers are cut using the Loops Key at the following sizes:

White - 5"
Dark Purple - 4 3/4"
Purple - 4 1/2"
White - 3" (Shadow Key)
Light Purple - 2 1/4" (Shadow Key)

I don't remember which cartridge I used to cut the "Congrats"....sorry.  I thought I had written it down but it appears not.  I also added a piece of ribbon that I had in my stash.

Thanks for stopping by...Have a great day.

You Rock!

Hope you are having a relaxing evening.  It's been a few weeks since I've spent time in my craft room actually creating.  I'm pretty that in a previous post I mentioned my hubby helped me move my craft room to a different room - so I've spent most of my time organizing and cleaning up my craft room rather than creating.  What little spare time I've had that is.  Between work being really busy and being sick, I haven't had much.  I'm actually working for a few hours tomorrow as well - so my original plan to spend the day in my craft room has been squashed. :-)

Instead, I thought I'd spend an hour or so in there tonight as I need to make a couple birthday cards.  Both my FIL and BIL had birthday's this past week and I'll be seeing them tomorrow.  My FILs birthday was last Saturday and tomorrow we are having his birthday get together.  I made the following birthday card for him.  I kept it pretty simple.  He is a big music buff...so when I saw this cut on the Groovy Times cartridge I really wanted  to use it.

This is a standard A2 size card.  The patterned paper is from the DCWV Indian Summer Fall Stack.  I got it a year or so ago at JoAnn's.  The radio is cut at 2 3/4" and I used pop-dots to give it some dimension.  I also added some Hemp Cord to give it some texture.  The sentiment - "You Rock!" is from the My Pink Stamper Friends & Family stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  Hopefully I'll be able to make my BIL's card tomorrow after I finish working and will post that before the weekend is over.  Have a great weekend.....
