Altered Composition Notebook

I've been meaning to enter the TCP Challenge #1: Altered Notebook and it seems time has gotten away from me.  The deadline to submit an entry is tonight at midnight.  So, since I really wanted to enter and make my very 1st attempt at altering a notebook, after work, I decided to go ahead and create my altered notebook.  This will be part of my stepson's Christmas gift.  He is 14 years old and likes to write and draw....but hates to read.  So, I thought I'd make up a "journal" for him to write down his thoughts and/or draw in....for this reason, I didn't do anything to the inside really.  Although, I did add a pocket to the front inside cover using the same card stock used to cover the front and back of the composition book. (Forgot to take a pick though...sorry.)

I used Coordinations paper to cover the front and back.  I then used a file to distress the paper and to give it that worn in look.  I used the Indie Art cartridge to cut out all of the different icons on the front and back cover.  I haven't sealed it with modge podge yet as I think I need to add something else to it....I just haven't figured out exactly what is missing yet.  If you have any suggestions, please leave me a comment and let me know.  All suggestions are welcome!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  Have a great week!

Nice job. My daughter loves it. That blue paper in the background... did you distress that or is that how it came? Was it part of a stack?

Thanks for crafting with us, I hope to see more of your work!

The blue background paper is Coordinations cardstock which I distressed using a thick nail file. The thicker lines you see are a result of where I placed the tape I used to adhere the paper to the composition book and then filed over.
